How to join
The benefits of joining the ITP Support Association:-
What is membership?
Membership is being on the ITP Support Association mailing list.
You will not have to attend an AGM or pay an annual membership subscription.
(For those living outside the UK there is a mailing fee to cover postage
costs)
Who can join?
Anyone with an interest in ITP whether patient, past sufferer,
parent, family member or friend, can join our organisation which is a
registered charity.
How do I become a member?
By sending your request for the relevant information
pack to us together with a voluntary donation and returning it to
the ITP Support Association address. You will automatically be sent an
information pack on joining. Should you wish to discontinue membership
in the future, just contact us and your name will be removed from our
list.
What are the benefits?
Membership of the ITP Support Association mailing list brings you:
- The Platelet, a quarterly
newsletter
- access to our patient/parent contact network
- further information on ITP, treatment and the latest research; through
- our free booklets and factsheets
- advice from our medical advisors on difficult conditions
- an invitation to attend annual ITP Support Association Conventions
- featuring visiting ITP specialists
- occasional optional surveys to gather data on ITP
- access to our volunteer patient/parent contact network
How much will it cost?
For those in the UK there is no joining fee, but we do welcome donations
in order to function. For those outside the UK there is a £5 annual
mailing fee to cover our postage costs
Will I be joining a registered charity?
Yes, we are the only registered charity for ITP in the UK (No.1064480).
Will my name be passed to other organisation?
Certainly not. Our mailing list is confidential and will not be disclosed
to any other organisation.
What will my donation be used for?
It will be used to continue our daily work of providing information
on ITP to patients, sponsoring an ITP specialist nurse, holding annual
conventions and funding research. The Association is run by volunteers
from their own homes, so your donation will not be used for salaries or
office expenses.
